Reduce power on volumio

1. Turn off HDMI output

sudo nano /etc/rc.local

In the file enter the following line to disable HDMI after boot:

/usr/bin/tvservice -o

To re-enable it use this command:

sudo /opt/vc/bin/tvservice -p

2. Turn off Bluetooth

sudo nano /boot/userconfig.txt

In the file enter the following line to disable bluetooth:

dtoverlay=pi3-diable-bt

To disable the systemd service that initialises the modem so it doesn’t use the UART

sudo systemctl disable hciuart

Disable related services"

sudo systemctl disable hciuart.service
sudo systemctl disable bluealsa.service
sudo systemctl disable bluetooth.service

3. Turn off WiFi (if you are using wired connection to connect to Volumio)

sudo nano /boot/userconfig.txt

In the file enter the following line to disable WiFi:

dtoverlay=pi3-disable-wifi

4. Disable USB/LAN

To disable the USB controller execute the following command:

echo '1-1' |sudo tee /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/unbind

This will completely turn off the USB and Ethernet BUS chip To re-enable the USB controller when it’s needed again:

echo '1-1' |sudo tee /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/bind

After a reboot the USB controller will be enabled automatically.

to make this setting persistant (disable the USB controller after boot)

sudo nano /etc/rc.local

and then enter the disabling command.
